I created these charts when I first started my journey into the Japanese language. I searched for some references to hang on my wall or my fridge that was both educational and aesthetically pleasing, but couldn't find anything. These chart prints came out as my solution! Perfect for the japanese-learner who values both function and form. Both you and your fridge will be happy.
Understanding the Japanese Writing System
Japanese is unique because it uses three different scripts together. Hiragana is the phonetic foundation of the writing system and is used for native Japanese words and grammar. It's the first thing children (and language learners) learn. Its shapes are soft and curvy, representing the "flow" of the language.
