I created these charts when I first started my journey into the Japanese language. I searched for some references to hang on my wall or my fridge that was both educational and aesthetically pleasing, but couldn't find anything. These chart prints came out as my solution! Understanding the Japanese Writing System

Japanese is unique because it uses three different scripts together. Kanji are symbols, Originally adopted from Chinese characters, that represent whole concepts or objects rather than just sounds. While there are thousands of Kanji, learning the basics opens up the true heart of Japanese literature and art. This selection of VERY Basic Kanji is curated for the beginner, focused on some of the most common symbols.
